Pegasus and the Flame is a story about when mythology and reality collide. The main genres of this book are mystery and adventure, although it can be very sad at times. It is about a creature called Pegasus finding this girl called Emily and the go on adventures together with some of the Olympians. I would recommend this book to girls and boys for 11 years and up. I thought this book was the best I had ever read so I asked my dad if he would buy me the next two for Christmas.

Pegasus and the Flame is an imaginative fantasy book by Kate O’Hearn. Kate cleverly combines ancient myth with present day America which gives it an oddly futuristic feel. Pegasus and the Flame sounds girly but as you get deeper into the book you realize it is turning into a horror thriller that will make your blood run cold. The horror is that the bad guys in this tale are us the humans and at some point in the book you will feel like punching someone in the face! This book clashes Greek legend with present day teenage life and the main character Emily is thrown into a dangerous adventure to save Olympus. The only let down for this book is the ending – it seems as though the author ran out of paper and finished it in a hurry. I give this book 4 stars. Enjoy!
