    Pig To The Rescue!

This book was our first encounter with Pig and his friends, and we immediately warmed to him! This is a lovely story about the value of friendship and not giving up on each other. A fun read with a lot of silly humour, which went down well! (But be warned, you may need some calming down time after the fits of giggles! Pig can be rather crude...) Pig's adventures are most certainly out of the ordinary; so too are the wonderful characters he encounters along the way, from the flamboyant but misunderstood Ki-Ki the fashion loving fickle turkey, to the irrefutably evil Ivanna. After Pig's best friend, Cow, is kidnapped, he and Duck set out on a perilous rescue mission. Guided (or perhaps misguided?) by the crazy Ki-Ki, they've got to retrieve their pal, before she is turned into a handbag! Great discussion followed the story, in particular about friendship and forgiveness, and animal cruelty. A great read to share, and the children can't wait to hear the next instalment of Pig's diary. Highly recommended!
