Product description

Faizah’s sister’s new hijab is blue as the sea and sky. But when people are nasty about it, will the sisters know how to be strong? It’s Faizah’s first day of school – and it’s her big sister Asiya’s first day of wearing a hijab. It’s made of a beautiful blue fabric, like the ocean and sky with no line between them, saying hello with a loud wave. But not everyone sees the hijab as beautiful. In the face of hurtful, confusing words, will Faizah and Asiya dare to be proud and hold their heads up high?

  • An uplifting, universal tale of new experiences
  • By Olympic fencing medallist Ibtihaj Muhammad
  • Stirring themes of bullying, pride and sibling love
  • Beautifully illustrated and full of powerful feeling

    Beautiful story

A beautiful story with vibrant illustrations, written by an author(Ibtihaj Muhammad - Muslim-American athlete to medal in the Olympics) sharing her own experiences. So vital to encourage diversity and equality. My kids really enjoyed the book and it got them thinking.
