Win free books for your school – £1000 to be won!
We’re asking Saint Lucian schools to encourage your pupils to design and write a postcard to children at a school in the UK, talking about their life in Saint Lucia and asking about the children’s lives in the UK. What do you think the differences might be?
On the back of the postcard, draw, paint or use different materials to create a picture inspired by Saint Lucia. This could focus on any element of the island – whether the landscape, the Piton Mountains, the history, the plants and animals, the people, day to day life…or even the chocolate!
You can either create one BIG postcard with your whole class, or each one of the pupils can create their own individual postcards.
To enter, simply download and print one of the postcard templates below, ask your pupils to create their postcards, and then send them back to us. You may enter by scanning the postcards and emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘Saint Lucia Schools Postcard Competition’ or by posting the postcards to us at Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, 1 Bella Rosa Road, Post Office Box 221, Castries, Saint Lucia. Please ensure that you include the pupil’s name on each postcard and that you include the school name and address and a teacher’s email address with your school’s entries. The closing date for entries is the 12th February 2021.
We’ll be notifying the winning schools in early April 2021. Winning schools will receive free books for their school. The prize total is £1000, to be split between the winning schools.
