Product description

Hey, buster! Normal life is a total yawn. Break out of boredom with Ruby Redfort, the super-awesome creation from multi-million-copy bestseller Lauren Child…

Want to know more? Of course you do, bozo.

Here’s the low-down on Ruby Redfort: she’s a genius code-cracker, a daring detective, and a gadget-laden special agent who just happens to be a thirteen-year-old girl. She and her slick side-kick butler, Hitch, foil crimes and get into loads of scrapes with evil villains, but they’re always ice-cool in a crisis.

In LOOK INTO MY EYES, we go right back to Ruby’s beginnings as an agent. When an anonymous caller sets Ruby a challenge, it’s not long before she finds her way into the HQ of the most secret of secret agencies – SPECTRUM. They need her help to crack a code but her desk job soon spirals into an all-out action adventure, as Ruby uncovers the dastardly plans of the formidable Fool’s Gold Gang…

I really enjoy the Ruby Redfort series. It is funny and mysterious. I think Ruby is my favorite character because she is clever and witty. I have read the two books, Take your last breath and Look into my eyes, and hoping to read the third book. I would recomend this to boys and girls who are ten and over and love detective and mystery novels. : >

This book is amazing! I loved the mystery, and the codes Ruby and her friend Clancy used to communicate.

The plot is really well thought out, and the story is just amazing!

I would recommend this to any older readers who enjoy mystery or spy books.

The cover of this book is awesome – I like how you can only see Ruby’s eyes as it makes the cover look more mysterious. The green and pink add a nice splash of colour.

This book is full of exciting adventures, murderous villains, perplexing codes and difficult missions. Ruby is meant to be thirteen, and even though she’s a ‘genius’, sometimes I thought she seemed more like an eleven year old. However I don’t think this really matters as some people don’t act their age, and that includes characters in books! My only problem with this book is that it was very slow-paced in places.

I read this all in one sitting. It was a fun book to read, and I liked imagining how Ruby would get out of the dramatic, near-death experiences she would get herself into. The secret codes Ruby and her friend used were so good that I couldn’t decipher them – maybe it would’ve been good if the translation had been at the bottom of the page in small print or something.

I used to read other books by Lauren Child when I was little, such as Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola, so it’s nice that she’s finally written a book for my current age group.

This book is fine for girls and boys aged 10-14, and could probably be read to a slightly younger child. I give it a rating of 4/5 – a point deducted for the occasional slow pace. Overall though, this is a fantastic book!

Ruby Redfort is a super sleuth 13-year-old code cracker. When she is offered a spot in a secret agency called SPECTRUM, she eagerly excepts. This book is a thrilling page turning for fans of mysteries and Nancy Drew. Although a very perplexed novel, with many codes for the reader to crack. The book is recommended for 5th-6th grade although I think that would be the MINIMUM age limit. I think middle schoolers especially lovers of mystery would love this book. Surprises, twist and turns, quick escapes, secret agents, spy gadgets, and SECRETS.

I bought this book from the scholastic magazine, because of Clarice bean and I’ve loved it! I think the idea of the Vigenère cipher is a great, and not straight forward. I took quite some time trying to find the keyword but I did it half way through the book. but other than that the plot line is great too.

The long awaited Ruby Redfort book is finally here. Any Clarice Bean fan like me will have been looking forward to this for ages and it wont disappoint anyone.Even if you’re not a Clarice Bean fan this is a great book. In-case you don’t know Ruby Redfort is a super intelligent teenage spy/school girl. If you’re a boy thinking this is like another soppy schoolgirl spy story I can asure you it’s not- there is no romance in this story just cold blooded killers and gutsy spies. I love this book and I know you will to.

The best book I have ever read! Whether you are a Clarice Bean fan or not, you will absolutely love this book. I always liked Clarice Bean so I was overwhelmed when I got this book. This would be a great Christmas present for girls aged 11-14 who love a bit of action/adventure. My favourite character is Hitch- Butler by day, agent by night! This book definitely deserves 5*. Finally, don’t worry about wasting your pocket money on this book, it will be great value for money!
