Product description
It’s Christmas Eve, and disaster is looming. Jimmy and Robbie Mack have made twenty-seven sandwiches for Santa, and they’ve even peeled all Rudolf the reindeer’s carrots! But Rudolf won’t be eating carrots tonight – he’s sick with the flu. Which means Santa won’t be having his sandwiches either, because the sleigh is grounded and Santa is stuck! What’s going to happen to all the presents? Will children across the world wake up to empty stockings on Christmas morning? Will the big day be cancelled? Or can Rover the dog save Christmas? Well… what do you think?
A wonderfully comical festive story from Ireland’s best-loved storyteller, Booker Prize winner Roddy Doyle.

on 9 January 2014Santa was having a bad day and asks Rover to help. Can Rover save the day?
The main characters in this book were Rover, Robbie, Jimmy, Santa, Victoria and Kayla. Rover is a clever, funny dog who belongs to the man next door to Robbie, Jimmy and Kayla. Victoria is their friend who lives the other side of them. Santa is a very important man who needs help.
My first favourite part was when Victoria and Kayla flew out the window with half of Victoria’s mum’s best dress using it as a parachute.
My second favourite part was when Victoria using Kayla mums bungee jumping rope jumps down the chimney to kiss the Mama and the Papa.
My first favourite character was Victoria because all she can say is ‘BUM BUM’ but her family know her so well that they know what she is saying.
My second favourite character was Kayla because all she says is who are you? And the little elf did not know what she was saying when she parachuted onto him.
I thought this book was funny. I read it in 2 nights and I loved it. Aged 8 plus boys and girls would like this book.

I loved this book because it was very funny. I really liked Rudolph when he said that he would not work with Santa. He was also wearing sunglasses which was very funny,
