Product description

Eloise has always loved Joan of Arc. Noble, honest and brave, she was everything Eloise wishes to be. Then, one and bright sunny day in Orleans, Eloise has a very special daydream… Eloise is sucked into the world of her heroine, where she faces the monumental challenge of saving France from English invaders. Such a task comes at a cost, as Joan soon discovers. Despite this, with great courage and an unbreakable spirit, she must listen to her heart and lead armies to victory… From the critically acclaimed author of War Horse comes this magical retelling of a classic story.

“There are few children’s writers as compelling as Michael Morpurgo.” Daily Express

“The former Children’s Laureate has the happy knack of speaking to both child and adult readers.” Guardian

I really enjoyed this book, it was really good! I love Michael Morpurgo books, this book didn`t disappoint!. I liked this book because of the way that Michael Morpurgo describes the setting and character, I also love the fact that it starts off in modern France and moves into medieval France through the first couple of chapters and that the girl in modern France and Joan are very similar- similar appearance and both have a bird as pet! My favourite character is Eloise as she has an extreme devotion to Joan of Arc and even when she didn`t get the part of Joan in a parade, she still stayed strong! I rate this book 9/10, nobody could have told the story as good as Michael Morpurgo, nothing is missed out in the retelling and this is definitely a must read!
