   Recommended

   A great introduction to Jane Austen - this is a fictional story of the life of Jane Austen when she was a teenager. Written as a diary by her friend and cousin Jenny Cooper who lived with the Austen family for a few months. It gives an interesting insight into the life of young girls at the end of the 18th century. Reccomended for teenage girls who enjoy history as well as a romantic girly read.

   I read this after I read jane austen and I thought that it was really good . I liked that it was set out a diary .

   I LOVE THIS BOOK !!!!! It is great. It is based on the true life of Jane Austen but is written as a diary through the views of her best friend Jenny (who in real life was also called Jane, but the author changed it to Jenny as it would be to confusing with two Jane’s !) Jenny’s story is also based on true events. The book follows the two girls as they visit balls and as Jenny meets Captain Thomas Williams … Great read, i would recommend it for girls aged 12+

   This book is amazing it was wrote in the late 17th century its about the famous book writer jane austen and her cousin jenny cooper who falls in love with captian thomas williams and got married.

   It is a lovly book and it is all true jenny cooper is real and so is captian thomas williams and jane austen and her family are real ever one in this book is real.

   The best book i have ever read . I LOVED IT.

   when i read the back cover it didn’t seem that good but as soon as i started it i LOVED IT!!!

   Cora Harrison wrote a novel called ‘I was Jane Austen’s Best Friend’ in the form of a diary written by Jenny Copper, Jane Austen’s cousin and best friend. It has some romance, friendship and family issues with a twist as it is written in the 16th century.

   My favorite character was Jane Austen as she was a funny, creative and caring friend. She can be cheeky towards her mother but is loved by her father because of her jokes. She loves to be creative with stories and writes about romance but makes it funny too. She loves having a good time too! At the beginning of the book when Jane is seriously ill, we did not know her very well but you still felt concerned about her because of the way Jenny had described her.

   My least favorite character of the book was Jenny’s sister-in-law Augusta. She is very prim and proper and is very full of herself. She thinks she is the most important person in the room and brags all the time about how wonderful she is. Augusta orders her husband, Jenny’s brother, around all the time thinking she is the boss. The thing I dislike the most is she is nasty to Jenny and thinks she’s worthless and it gets me annoyed because as the book goes on you begin to care more for Jenny, likewise the other characters

   The bit of the book that made me happy was Captain Williams, the man Jenny is in love with. It is probably the most romantic part of the book and my heart melted when I read what he said.

   The funniest part of the book would be all the times Jane said or wrote something that made the other characters, as well as me laugh. The whole way through the book Jane maintained a character that always had a good joke or two that would cheer the other characters up or lighten the mood.

   The best book i have read in ages!
