OMG I know that I say that I love practically every book I read (if you’ve seen my other reviews) but is definitely my all time fav! It’s all about 10 year old orphan Rose who is suddenly whisked away to famous magician, Mr Fountain’s grand house to be a maid where she learns that there might just be magic in her too! But then children start to go missing! Can Rose find them? Is she strong enough? How powerful is she? Will she see what’s truly in Freddie (Mr Fountain’s Mysterious Apprentice) and Isabella’s (Mr Fountain’s Spoilt Daughter’s) hearts?

Find out in Holly Webb’s gripping novel, Rose!

I would recommend this book for 10+

I loved this book. It is set in the early 1900s, at first in an orphanage, then to an amazing, huge house. Rose, an orphan of around 11, it sent to the house to work as a servant! The book has lots of twists and turns, and I would reccomend it to girls aged 9 and over.

I was gripped from page one. It wasn’t very realistic, but that’s what I liked about it! There were a few very unexpected but pleasant twists to this story, which made you want to keep reading.

The cover is absolutely gorgeous. It looks mysterious, magical and marvellous – perfect! It makes you want to just….grab it.

This definitely wasn’t any ordinary novel – it was a gripping, on the edge-of-your-seat, what-happens-next book! I give this book 10/10 and recommend it for readers aged 10+.

Rose was a brilliant book! Once I had bought it I was very eager to read it. Very good story too. But it might be a little scary for children under ten.

I love the book Rose! It’s sort of slightly historical and a lot of fantasy! To cut a long story short, Rose is an orphan and goes to work as a servant in a magician’s house. She settles down only to find out her new master has just aquired a new lady-friend. Rose doesn’t like her, neither does any one else downstairs, and Rose doesn’t trust her what – so – ever…

I would recommened this to girls age 8 and a half +
