My April Book of the Month pick for 7 to 8 year old is the new Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose! This is the third title in the Cat Kid series, and it’s the third week at his Comic Club. Naomi, Melvin and their siblings are each trying to find their purpose. Naomi’s idea of a get rich quick scheme causes a lot of commotion and emotion in the club. Will a desire for money and power cloud Naomi’s purpose? Is it quitting time? Will the club ever be the same?

This is the tie in to the Dog Man series, from children’s firm favourite Dav Pilkey, who is also the award-winning author and illustrator of the worldwide bestselling Captain Underpants series which kids will also recognise from film and TV. This means there are loads more for them to get reading if they love this book.
